DONALD T. STEINMAKER
Donald T. Steinmaker of Maspeth passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the age of 89. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Adrienne (nee Jusza), his beloved daughters Jane (Stephen), Judy (Michael) and Audrey (Michael), his cherished grandchildren Christina (Will), Lauren (John), Katie (Justin), Sarah, Kelly (Dalton), Kristen (Adam) and his adored great grandchildren Raven, River, Sawyer, Emma, Wiliam, George, Jack,John Stephen, Austin, Brody, and Tucker. Donald is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Donald Steinmaker was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Donald will be missed by his trusted friend and caregiver, Chez Kwiatkowski. Donald was predeceased by his brother, Peter (Ethel), sister, Janice (Teddy), and only Grandson Benjamin. Donald T. Steinmaker leaves behind a legacy that will have an enduring impact on his family’s branches, his community, and his country. To his children, he was a steady source of praise, support and stability. His grandchildren cherish him for his jolliness, his spirit of adventure, and his endless coaching. Donald was also a proud Patriot – he loved his country. He served honorably in the Korean War and was a lifelong member of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War. In addition to his service, he invested endless hours in reading to learn about American history. Donald also loved sports, especially baseball and the Mets. He taught his granddaughters and grandson to love the game; he dedicated himself to teaching his grandchildren softball and baseball, backyard boxing – and supported all of his children’s and grandchildren’s athletic pursuits, from horseback riding to figure skating. And he loved listening to his daughters and granddaughters play the piano. Donald had a dedicated career to the Pepsi Company, retiring at age 62. In addition to his dedication to family, country,and company, Donald was known throughout Maspeth for his contributions to his community. Donald was a faithful member of Trinity St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran Church. His faith was a central part of his life. Donald also had a remarkable network of friends at the Maspeth library and the Maspeth bank. He will be missed but always remembered. Donald’s family will receive family, friends and neighbors Saturday,February 26, 2022 9:00 am to 12 pm. The United States Army Honor Guard will fold and present the flag to Mrs. Steinmaker in recognition of Donald’s service to our country at 9:30 am. Reverend Terence Weber of Trinity St Andrew’s Evangelical Church will celebrate Donald’s faith at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, New York. In lieu of flowers: St. Jude’s Hospital, Tunnel to Towers, Paralyzed Veterans or Wounded Warriors.

Corinne (Schmieder) Sapienza, 85, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on February 21st surrounded by her four children. She will be forever remembered for her love of her children, her family, and her faith. She was born on April 10, 1936, in Ridgewood, NY to the late Walter and Ann Simmons. She is predeceased by her brother Walter Simmons. Her life was devoted to her children and service to the church. Her legacy is one of strength, faith, love, commitment, and her sense of humor. She is survived by her children Diane T. Macke (Ted); Stephen J. Schmieder (Joanne); Paul F. Schmieder (Dawn); and Susan J.
