To commemorate the halfway mark for the application process, which opened on October 15 and will close on December 15, the developers hosted a “Party in the Park” on Saturday afternoon to introduce the community to the new buildings, share information and celebrate the local community.
Hunter’s Point South will consist of two buildings that will offer residents a number of shared amenities including public terraces, fitness centers, tech centers, bike storage, a community roof-top garden, party rooms, laundry rooms, a parking garage and a pet amenity.
Once the application process closes in December, qualified applicants will begin to be notified of their housing lottery status in early 2015, and the first group of selected residents can expect to begin moving into the buildings in spring 2015.
Saturday’s party featured free music, free food from popular food trucks and family-fun activities. Visitors also got to ride an exclusive East River Ferry vessel running to and from East 34th Street in Manhattan and Hunter’s Point South.
