Dear Editor,

Senator Charles Schumer, while speaking at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Sunnyside, said that "President Donald Trump is not welcome in Queens."

Speaking at a pro-choice rally on the steps of the Supreme Court, Schumer said about justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, "you will not know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."

Perhaps Schumer forgot about civil discourse in America. Democrat, Republican or independent, liberal or conservative, we have a long held tradition of respect for our government institutions, be it the president or Supreme Court.

Voters should remember this in 2022 when he stands for re-election.
